1: Open Road
My creditors are calling, I've got no time on my hands.
My share-prices are falling. Time to make a better plan.
Get the passport with the funny name - guess I better travel light:
Leave the handgun in the bottom drawer; they won't like it on the flight.
Open road, and open skies - here I come!
Leave Merry England in the rain and fly towards the sun.
There's a man I know in a desert town, and he owes me more than one.
A few greasy dollars in my shoes and a bearer bond or three -
So sorry 'bout the change of plans, but I won't be home for tea.
Open hearts and open hands - here I come!
In this land of honeyed sunshine and of opportunity
I'm reborn with a four-by-four and cross-boarder expertise
So don't ask what's in the boxes, I just look the other way,
For who am I to question what games other people play?
Open wounds and open graves? I see none.
2: Exiles
Now the devils of my conscience make a place for me
Between the empty skies and endless desert sands.
Did they bring me here so I could 'find myself'?
Well, if there's a lesson, I just don't understand.
If I only knew how I could free myself
From the memories that followed even here...!
And id you saw me now as I see myself
Would you turn your back? Or brush away a tear?

Spektakulär. Es gibt kein anderes Wort dafür.
Vielen Dank für die Gelegenheit, eines der besten Prog-Alben aller Zeiten zu hören.

I remember the excitement when The Sentinel was released having seen the band live a few times before. I loved the album but was aware that there were tracks missing and it had been rumoured that it was to be a double album. To hear all these takes and works in progress takes me right back to the 80's and the buzz of all the new prog that was coming out back then. This is an absolutely essential purchase for any Pallas fan. nuttinikki
