lyrics
Oh Europa....
From arctic islands deep in ice to burning southern seas,
An ancient land where empires rise and fall
To the 'Quick-March!' of progress (change and decay)
The waves of culture roll upon your shores.
From Romulus to EEC the teaming millions fly,
The shifting sands of nations tell their tale
Of myriad creeds and races who fight to make their mark
In search of power, wealth or Holy Grail
(Oh, Europa....)
Golden ages, seasons of change. Read each tale as it runs:
Every day a story, every life a legend,
And the centuries roll over, one-by-one.
Now out there in the distance see the generals read the names
Of those who payed the price that tipped their hands.
While passing years may teach us, the centuries never will.
We learn, and yet we do not understand.
Xiatuka, Xiatuka!
The cries of hate, the whispers of love.
See each chameleon run,
While in the theatre of power games the ticket man waits
To blow our candles out, one by one - by one - by one....
(Author's note: As far as I know 'Xiatuka' has absolutely no meaning in any Indo-European language whatsoever. I invented it In the spirit of the European Union, so as to show no bias towards or against any one member state, past or present.)

Spektakulär. Es gibt kein anderes Wort dafür.
Vielen Dank für die Gelegenheit, eines der besten Prog-Alben aller Zeiten zu hören.

I remember the excitement when The Sentinel was released having seen the band live a few times before. I loved the album but was aware that there were tracks missing and it had been rumoured that it was to be a double album. To hear all these takes and works in progress takes me right back to the 80's and the buzz of all the new prog that was coming out back then. This is an absolutely essential purchase for any Pallas fan. nuttinikki
