lyrics
Maybe the best has been and gone?
I’ve had great times, I even knew it at the time.
Never paid much attention to accruing things.
Huh! Never paid much attention.
A sip of tea, and a smile,
A nice cup of normality.
What do I leave when I’m gone? What does it say about me?
I’m sitting here, you see me writing, eating, smiling.
I’m like the Trojan horse but I’m just an ass.
So easy to hide behind rituals of time spent with friends, spent with strangers: imagining my own death.
Dead man’s porn
Dead man’s porn
My legacy from 40-odd years
Dead man’s porn
Blast, I’m tired. I want to get off.
Take a break from living, from trying.
I can’t cope, I’m not responsible
Well, I am, but I don’t like it.
chorus
A sip of tea, and a smile,
Nice weather for the time of year.
Do you see behind my eyes
A pathetic reality?
Rushing, rushing, feel it rushing through my veins
With back room chemistry, belly clenches, neck hair prickles.
Feel instant chill and overwhelm, not turning back: job done.
Want to rush to embrace the calm.

Spektakulär. Es gibt kein anderes Wort dafür.
Vielen Dank für die Gelegenheit, eines der besten Prog-Alben aller Zeiten zu hören.

I remember the excitement when The Sentinel was released having seen the band live a few times before. I loved the album but was aware that there were tracks missing and it had been rumoured that it was to be a double album. To hear all these takes and works in progress takes me right back to the 80's and the buzz of all the new prog that was coming out back then. This is an absolutely essential purchase for any Pallas fan. nuttinikki
